TO THE CHURCH
THROUGH THE SNOW

We decided to get married in Cumbria and in particular Crosby-on-Eden because it is a beautiful village. We had our first home together there. Sadly we were flooded in the 2004 floods and shortly after we decided to move nearer town. Both our children were christened in the church at Crosby-on-Eden where we were married. I still work in the village at Crosby nursery as a nursery nurse, so the village holds special memories for us as a family.

WEDDING DAY

It snowed on the morning of our wedding and we had about 5 inches of snow on the ground. We had 4x4 cars to pick me and the bridesmaids up. We had a traditional church wedding followed by our reception at Crosby Golf Club where guests were welcomed with hot mince pies and mulled wine.
 
The wedding breakfast was a winter soup, traditional turkey xmas dinner and a selection of 3 mini deserts including a mini xmas pud. The wedding cake was cup cakes with sprinkled with edible glitter and small holly decorations

and a large round traditional wedding cake with a bride and groom orniment and a footballer and a ballerina to represent our children.
 
After dinner the guests and children gathered around the xmas tree for our special visitor... Santa, who handed out presents for all the children. We had a disco. Our first song was by Adele.

Thanks to Sue who made our beautiful wedding cakes. Thank you to Craig's Mum and Dad and my Mum for all their help with the wedding. And a big thank you to my little girl Aleix and bridesmaid Emma Routledge who helped me through every part of the wedding. Couldn't of done it without them.

ADVICE FOR BRIDES-TO-BE

Try not to get to wrapped up in all the hype and preparations of planning your wedding and try to remember that the most important thing is that you and your partner are getting ready to spend the rest of your lives together.
