CHOOSING YOUR
WEDDING
COLOUR SCHEME

1. THE WEDDING DRESS COLOUR

Your colour scheme starts with your wedding dress colour. Find your wedding dress first, your colour scheme starts with your dress colour. Traditionally this colour will be white, ivory or similar shade. Once you have ordered your wedding dress, you can follow this colour through to your wedding stationery, chair covers, table linen, etc.

2. THE BRIDESMAID DRESS COLOUR

Next, choose the colour of your bridesmaid dresses. This is the base colour of your wedding colour scheme. Now bridesmaids dresses can be found in every shade under the sun, it can be so overwhelming confronted with the sample colour swatches and no idea where to start.

Two main rules here 1. pick a colour which compliments you, even if you'd secretly like to dress your bridesmaids in coral, remember that colour will be stood right next to you in the photos too! 2. Find a colour which will flatter all your bridesmaids. Where possible, get together and enjoy a day

out round the shops trying on different colours and shades. Find the right colour and the girls will feel comfortable and the smiles will follow on the day. Continue this colour through to your bridal bouquet, table decorations, and your wedding cake.

3. THE ACCENT COLOUR

Your accent colour is the one with the impact. Your accent colour should compliment your base colour. Try not to go overboard with your accent colour or you'll draw too much attention away from yourself on the day. Used sparingly the accent colour can lift your colour scheme - add presence to your bridal bouquet, table centre pieces and wedding cake.

4. HARMONY COLOUR(S)
